“Giocheremo con i fiori”

Abruzzo DOC Pecorino

Recently recovered in our territory, the Pecorino is a low yield native variety with a big enological value, that is deserving wine lovers’ attention. Obtained through repeated pickings harvest and a traditional, not intrusive vinification, this version is aimed at expressing the Pecorino fundamental characteristics, exalting, with no excess, the fresh and not banal aromatic complexity and the particular tasting profile, where alcohol, acidity and minerality are well present in perfect balance.

  • VARIETY: Pecorino 100%
    VINEYARD: area 5 Ha
    altitude 300 m/above sea level
    orientation E-NE
    TRAINING: guyot PLANTING YEAR: 2005
SOIL: clay-limestone on a sandy sublayer
    YIELD: 50 hl/Ha
FERMENTATION: 100% steel, with temperature control
AGEING: 6 months “sur lies” in steel tanks
    ALCOHOL: 13.5-14.5%
    SERVING TEMPERATURE: 12 O C

The straw yellow with light gold shades is a dense introduction to a full body mouth. Fine and elegant nose, of citrus and white flowers, rounded by honey hints but vibrant of the typical herbs flavors of the variety (sage, rosemary, lavender).
Smoothly entering the mouth, where the zesty acidity and minerality move up the tasting balance giving a long, mouthwatering persistence.
Perfect pairing with creamy and fat dishes, like risotto, gnocchi with cheese sauce, Adriatic see fried fish, medium-aged pecorino cheese.

“Bianchi Grilli”

Abruzzo DOC Pecorino

At our estate we only grow a few different native grapes, which we love to vinify in a single-variety style, for the sake of trying to express them as well as we can in our area for each single harvest. With the name “Bianchi Grilli” we appoint very limited white wine productions born from our will and pleasure to deepen and experiment, according to our grapes potential. Here in Italy “avere grilli per la testa” (literally “to have crickets in one’s head”) means to have strange, creative, funny ideas in mind.
By the way, “Bianchi Grilli” are some “white crickets” that we are not definitely able to put out of our head.

  • VARIETY: Pecorino 100%
    VINEYARD: area 0.5 Ha
    altitude 300 m/above sea level
    orientation E
    TRAINING: guyot. 2.50 x 0.80 meters
    PLANTING YEAR: 2005
SOIL: clay-limestone on a sandy sublayer
    YIELD: 40 hl/Ha
    FERMENTATION: barrique
AGEING: 11 months on the fermentation lees, 8 months in bottle
    ALCOHOL: 13.5-14%
    SERVING TEMPERATURE: 13° C

The maturation on the good fermentation lees exalts the balsamic and officinal herbs spiciness of the variety, which seems to take off the youth aromatic character, and to gain, through its bottle life, a deeper, more complex and important tone, probably more authentically expressing the still not so well explored soul of the grape.
The naturally high acidity and minerality challenge the typical barrel ageing roundness without being tamed, giving instead evidence of the great Pecorino potential.
Great pairing with stewed salted codfish, the very abruzzese lamb “cace e ove”, aged cheese.

    SOIL: clay-limestone
    YIELD: 70 hl/Ha
    VINIFICATION: partially from bleeding, part
from a white vinification of the whole bunches,
part from a maceration with the skins at cold
temperature. Fermentation in steel at 15-16o C
    AGEING: Steel
ALCOHOL: 13,5 – 14% according to the vintage
    SERVING TEMPERATURE: 13°-14° C

The typical, bright, violetshaded cherry colour and the visual perception of good density, are followed by fresh and rich
flavours of strawberry, pomegranate and cherry, enriched by elegant flowers among which the rose is emerging.
The volume is full and well balanced between the smoothness, due also to the alcohol, and the good acidity and minerality, making long the mouth persistence and stimulating the final. The peculiar character makes the wine very pleasant and flexible in meeting several kinds of dishes, ranging from Italian antipasti to traditional first courses, like noodles with tomato sauce or legumes and grain-based soups, to main courses of white meat, pizza. Perfect with the “Brodetto alla vastese”, a traditional abruzzese stewed seafood.

“Mazzamurello”

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC

It is obtained through the particular “sur lies” process applied to the best wine of the vintage. The peculiar flavours due to this technique, during the aging in barrique tend sometimes to become a bit unusual compared to the traditional Montepulciano.
This has reminded us the name of the Mazzamurello, a playful pixie of the Abruzzo tradition, that we imagine to live hidden among our barriques to play with the wine contained inside.

  • VARIETY: Montepulciano 100%
    VINEYARD: Extension: 2 Ha
    Altitude: 250 m/above sea level
    Orientation: several orientations

    ALCOHOL: 13,5 – 14,5% depending on the
    vintage
    SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18°-20° C

Important body, and excellent persistence and balance. The “sur lies” technique gives the wine a natural stability, enriching the wide fruity fan of very elegant nuances of flowers and spices, introducing a fresh and deep palate, able to develop a very long finish and an intriguing drinkability.
It perfectly matches important meet dishes, as Montepulciano braised beef, stewed wild boar with juniper and Aurum orange liquor, aged pecorino cheese.

    TRAINING SYSTEM: “Pergola Abruzzese”
    PLANTING YEAR: 1972
    SOIL: clay-limestone
    YIELD: 50 hl/Ha
    FERMENTATION: steel tanks
AGEING: 20 months in French oak barriques
    ALCOHOL: 13,5 – 14,5% depending on the

Important body, and excellent persistence and balance. The “sur lies” technique gives the wine a natural stability, enriching the wide fruity fan of very elegant nuances of flowers and spices, introducing a fresh and deep palate, able to develop a very long finish and an intriguing drinkability.
It perfectly matches important meet dishes, as Montepulciano braised beef, stewed wild boar with juniper and Aurum orange liquor, aged pecorino cheese.

Olio
Extra Vergine
di Oliva

Loreto Aprutino is one of the Italian capitals of extra virgin olive oil, and it is hard here to resist to the appeal of this charming product. We grow about four hundred olive trees, without any kind of chemical treatment.
The cultivars are mainly Dritta and Leccio del Corno, with a small percentage of Leccino and table olives, according to the tradition of the Abruzzo families in this area.
For each variety we choose the best picking day. The harvest is completely manual and the olives are cold processed in a very short time, to reveal their freshness and to keep their purity.
The olive oil is the product that best calls to mind the scented wind of our hills.

Leccio del Corno 40%, Dritta 40%,
Leccino, Intosso, Santa Caterina 20%

Loreto Aprutino and Corvara
Number about 400 trees
Altitude from 300 to 500 m/asl

Clear straw/green. Medium green fruity. Clean flavors, complex, green, almond and artichoke, green apple and hints of tomato. Pleasant and intense taste, balanced bitter and spicy notes.
Perfect pairing with legume and vegetable soups, grilled red meat and vegetables, rich salads. It gives its best on the Abruzzese style roasted baccalà with grilled red peppers.
